Australian Outback Rowing Bush Boat Bank

Our Outback Bush Boats are at the heart of making rowing accessible in regional Queensland. These boats are stored and transported to different communities as needed, helping to establish local rowing programs from the ground up.

It starts with a weekend of rowing, like our Come & Try Days, and if there’s enough community interest, we leave a boat and gear on-site for 12 weeks, supported by Mort & Co, local councils and businesses.

Every boat in the Bush Boats program has been donated or purchased on a shoestring, then refurbished and maintained by our amazing ORA volunteers, big shoutout to the Vikings Rowing Club, where many of our volunteers come from!

If you'd like to get involved, as a coach, mentor, boat tinkerer, or financial supporter, please reach out via email to hello@outbackrowing.com. There’s a place for everyone in the Outback Rowing family.
